Update: upcoming ACHPER Victoria events during COVID-19
As an important member of the ACHPER Victoria community, your health and wellbeing is our number one priority.
In response to the current and emerging circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 virus, we have made the decision to put in place precautionary measures to keep those who have registered for our upcoming ‘Awards Ceremony and AGM’ and ‘FMS and Game Sense’ workshop safe.
Although both events would have less than 500 attendees respectively, we feel postponing or cancelling these is the right thing to do at this time as the situation evolves.
Awards Ceremony and AGM – cancelled
Our Board and staff have made the decision to cancel our AGM and Awards Ceremony planned for 18 March 2020 at Melbourne Museum. This decision was made midday Friday 13 March taking into consideration Government advice and information.
It was also announced over the weekend that the Melbourne Museum will be closed from Monday 16 March 2020 until further notice. We would also like to thank our Awards and AGM event partner, the Transport Accident Commission for their ongoing support.
We offer our heartfelt congratulations to all ACHPER Victoria award winners who will be publicly announced and recognised via the ACHPER Victoria communication channels including our social media on Wednesday 18 March.
As per our constitution we are obliged to hold an Annual General Meeting, arrangements are being made to hold this meeting via webinar and details will be distributed to all members in due course.
FMS and Game Sense workshop – postponed
Following further consultation with our Board and staff, we have also decided to postpone our upcoming ‘FMS and Game Sense’ workshop, planned for 20 March at MSAC. The workshop will be postponed to a later date which is yet to be determined. Our team is focused on maintaining a high-quality experience for participants, and will be in touch with those who have registered for this workshop with further details as to how this will pan out in the coming weeks.
We’re all disappointed as everyone has worked hard to make this event a great professional learning opportunity, and are determined to provide you with this opportunity in the future.
We would like to thank our event partner RHSports and encourage you to consider RHSports as your preferred supplier of sports equipment and clothing.
As we all make sense of the evolving situation, ACHPER Victoria will be working hard to ensure we can continue to support your professional learning needs through online learning and digital resources. Watch this space for further announcements of future products and services including digital resources, online courses and future face-to-face events.
