Supporting families to actively commute to school
A lot has changed over the last few months, including the way we spend our time. We have dusted off the bikes, put on our runners and taken in some fresh air to keep our minds and bodies happy and healthy. However, as lockdowns ease, there has never been a better time to try planning and testing out different routes to school and choose which one works best for you.
Actively commuting to school, by either riding, walking, scooting or skating, is a great idea for many reasons, as it can help young people achieve their 60 minutes of recommended physical activity every day and prepare them for learning once they arrive at school too.
To help families prepare for their trip to school throughout the coming weeks, the Ride2School team at Bicycle Network are excited to launch a new campaign called ‘Give it a Go’.
This campaign involves a handy checklist of ways that families can get ready to give riding to school a go.
We want every parent to feel confident to make healthy, safe choices when it comes to getting their kids back to school, so Ride2School have come up with some simple steps to help you get Ready, Set and prepared to Roll on your way.
Check out the campaign and if you have any questions about the ‘Give it a Go’ campaign, please get in touch with the Ride2School team at ride2school@bicyclenetwork.com.au. Happy pedalling everyone!
