The Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation (VRGF) in partnership with experienced VCE teachers and ACHPER Victoria staff have collaborated to develop a new Year 11 VCE Health & Human Development resource – Game On. Gambling: a youth health issue.
This resource will assist teachers in delivering content as part of VCE HHD Unit 1 Area of Study 3. This part of the Study Design targets youth health and wellbeing, with a focus on researching into one area for improvement in detail.
The aim of the resource is to support teachers in introducing this topic to their students using a strengths based approach, providing data and resources from VRGF’s various projects and support programs to enable students to analyse real life data and develop an understanding of help seeking strategies should students find themselves, or a friend, in this position.
The resource includes six lesson plans with supporting activity sheets and power points, along with an assessment task guide to support teachers and students in completing a SAC.
