From state-focused to national impact: ACHPER Victoria rebrands as Active Education Australia

For decades, ACHPER Victoria has been a trusted provider of professional learning, teaching resources, and advocacy for Health and Physical Education (HPE) professionals across Victoria.

To better serve the vast and varied needs of educators, schools, and communities across Australia, in October 2024, we formally resigned from our parent organisation ACHPER Australia, opting to become an independent, nationally-operating not-for-profit.

Understanding that a more scalable and flexible structure was needed, in mid-2025, we officially unveiled our new identity as Active Education Australia (AEA). With a nod to our rich history and as a symbol of both continuity and transformation, we emphasise that we are “powered by ACHPER Victoria” to remind everyone it’s the same trusted team behind the levers.

What this means for educators

• Nationwide reach: Schools, educators, and community organisations across Australia can now access Active Education Australia’s expertise.

• Enhanced resources: Improved access to curriculum-aligned tools, professional learning opportunities, and expert advice.

• Consistency and trust: Being “powered by ACHPER Victoria” reassures members that the same experienced team remains at the helm.

The transformation from ACHPER Victoria to Active Education Australia is more than a name change, it’s a strategic evolution that broadens reach, enhances services, and strengthens the mission of enabling all Australians to lead active, healthy lives.
