New national resource brings wheelchair sport into classrooms, clubs, and communities

Melbourne teachers were recently treated to something special, with an exclusive preview event at the brand-new AFL Max Melbourne Airport. Hosted in partnership with Active Education Australia and AFL Max, this event brought together teachers for an afternoon of professional learning, play, and discovery – all designed to spark new ideas for school camps and programs in 2026.
The afternoon kicked off with an AFL-delivered professional development session, where participants earned CPD points while exploring innovative ways to engage students through movement, teamwork, and game-based learning. Educators walked away inspired and energised – ready to bring fresh strategies back to their schools.
After the session, teachers (and their kids!) were invited to stay, play, and explore everything AFL Max Melbourne has to offer. From interactive play zones to team challenges and high-performance spaces, there was plenty to experience.
