Designed specifically to align with the Year 9 and 10 Health & PE and VCE VM curriculum, the Transport Accident Commission‘s (TAC) world-first Road to Zero Education Complex at Melbourne Museum offers innovative and immersive programs for your students.
Featuring an interactive Experience Space and state-of-the-art Learning Studios, Road to Zero examines road safety through a scientific and evidence-based lens, providing a unique experience for students outside the classroom.
Led by knowledgeable road safety facilitators, excursions to Road to Zero comprise two parts:
- Experience Space – an exploratory exhibition of 13 immersive experiences that engage students with critical road safety themes.
- Learning studios – in the purpose-built learning hub, students research a 14- to 17-year-old road user group and craft a call to action designed to reinforce a chosen positive behaviour through the creation of a video advertisement.
Students examine community health ads and explore key factors such as audience, media type and evidence-based research in creating positive behaviour change outcomes. Using touch table technology, they create a public health campaign video ad with supporting evidence, pre-shot footage, sounds effects and music.
