From Hobart to the Sunshine Coast: empowering educators across Australia

This term, the Active Education Australia (AEA) team is thrilled to be returning to Tasmania and Queensland – reconnecting with passionate educators, connecting with new ones, sharing new ideas, and continuing our mission to make high-quality professional learning accessible to every educator, everywhere.

As we expand nationally, these workshops are building strong local networks and celebrating with teachers across various corners of Australia.

From Hobart to Launceston, and Brisbane to the Gold Coast, our interstate workshops have brought together educators from metro, regional, and rural schools – all united by a shared goal: to create more engaging, inclusive, and movement-rich learning experiences for students.

Each stop has delivered practical, hands-on professional learning, blending inspiration with ready-to-use classroom tools.

“The most valuable part of the workshop was the practical parts of the lessons. Physically trying out all the new games and ideas. I also found looking at the rubrics beneficial.” – HPE teacher, Launceston TAS.

Highlights from the road

Tasmania: Local teachers brought incredible energy to every session, diving into game-based learning, curriculum planning, and creative strategies to boost student engagement.

Queensland: From Brisbane to the coast, educators explored inclusive teaching practices and collaborative planning, sharing success stories that showcased the strength of their school communities.

Across both states, one theme stood out: professional learning is most powerful when it’s shared. The enthusiasm, laughter, and lightbulb moments made each stop a reminder of why connection matters.

“Seeing the enthusiasm in every room supports the reasons why regional professional learning is so important and we’ve loved playing a part in the learning journey of some amazing educators.” – Andy Hair, Resource Coordinator, AEA.

A big thanks to our Partners for their involvement in some of our workshops, particularly our valued partner HART Sport for joining us to offer additional connection opportunities for our teachers.

As 2026 approaches, we’re excited to keep growing our national footprint with plans underway for an expanded workshop calendar and new Anywhere PD offerings designed to meet teachers wherever they are – in schools, at home, or on the go.

Our focus remains the same: to empower every educator to explore, embed, and lead quality Health and Physical Education that inspires lifelong movement and wellbeing.
