Using plain language to explain complex legal content in a non-judgemental and inclusive approach, these sessions hosted by community educators and lawyers from Victoria Legal Aid explore the law regarding sexual consent and age of consent, as well as young people’s legal rights and responsibilities around producing, possessing and distributing intimate images.

These workshops are mapped to the ‘Respectful Relationships’ areas of the Victorian curriculum:

  • F-10: Health and Physical Education, Design and Technologies, Critical and Creative Thinking, Personal and Social Capability, and
  • F-10: Ethical Capability, Design and Technologies, Critical and Creative Thinking, Personal and Social Capability, Civics and Citizenship, Health and Physical Education

Kicking off from 14 October and running until 2 December, 2021 these will introduce teachers to Victoria Legal Aid’s Sex, young people and the law (SYPL), and Learning the Law (LTL) resource, as well as provide a range of legal tools that can be used by teachers and other workers.
