School is back, and it’s time to start planning out your Professional Learning for 2019! ACHPER Victoria continues to support teachers to deliver a high quality HPE curriculum which engages all students in a supportive and fun learning environment.
Driven by teacher needs and emerging trends, our PL team has put together a fantastic Professional Learning program for 2019 that is designed to address the challenges identified and shared with us by thousands of Victorian HPE primary and secondary teachers.
Sessions are conducted throughout the year, both face to face and online, and cover a range of Health and PE, Outdoor Education, and VET Sport and Recreation related content.

Presented by Kirsten Smith (Mernda Primary School) and Bernie Holland (ACHPER Victoria), this one day applied workshop is designed to provide primary school educators with skills to confidently teach Physical Education. You will learn the essentials for teaching Physical Education and make connections with colleagues in this area. The program is designed for: early career teachers, those who are new to teaching PE or anyone looking for a refresh and innovative ideas. |
FMS & Game Sense for Primary Teachers

OVERVIEW: |
Fundamental movement skills (FMS) and game sense strategies and concepts form the basic building blocks of many games, sports and activities. Presented by ACHPER Victoria’s Bernie Holland and Adriana Pinder and linked to the HPE curriculum, this one-day workshop will guide primary school educators in teaching basic FMS and game play concepts and strategies. *Note: As the Fundamental Movement Skills & Game Sense workshop supports the delivery of the Sporting Schools program in your school, you can apply for School sport funding to attend this event. |
VCE® PL EVENTS
For VCE® teachers, continue to improve your student’s VCE® Exam Performance with our Exam Report webinars, all in the comfort of your own workspace. To allow flexibility of attendance, each webinar runs for 60 minutes from 4-5pm.
Using the Chief Assessor’s report of the 2018 exams, the webinars will provide:
- An understanding of exam trends
- Help to identify common mistakes
- Explain mark allocation
- Discussion of the assessment guidelines and how this may influence your 2019 planning and delivery
