Celebrating a new national collaborative partnership with the Sports Excellence Scholarship Fund (SESF)

Active Education Australia and the Sports Excellence Scholarship Fund (SESF) are proud to announce a national collaboration, united by a shared commitment to supporting active, healthy lives for young people across Australia.

This partnership brings together two organisations with a common agenda; championing access, opportunity, and equity in sport, health, and physical activity. At its core is a simple but powerful belief – every young person deserves the chance to participate, thrive, and pursue their potential, regardless of their circumstances.

SESF plays a vital role in supporting families experiencing financial hardship by providing scholarship funding to help cover the costs associated with students representing their state or country in sport. By removing financial barriers at critical moments in a young athlete’s journey, SESF helps ensure talent, passion, and commitment are not limited by circumstance.

Through this national collaboration, both organisations will work together to raise awareness, strengthen connections with schools and educators, and extend their collective reach across communities nationwide. By sharing networks, platforms, and communication channels, the partnership aims to amplify impact and create clearer pathways for young people to stay engaged in sport and physical activity.

“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to equity, access, and long-term impact. By working alongside SESF at a national level, we are strengthening pathways that support young people, educators, and schools to foster lifelong engagement in physical activity and sport.” – Gillian Manson, Active Education Australia CEO.

“Partnering with Active Education Australia allows us to extend the reach of our mission and ensure greater awareness of the support available to families and young athletes. Together, we are creating more equitable opportunities for participation and progression in sport across Australia.” – Nick Mooney, SESF Executive Director.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to building healthier, more active futures – supporting educators, empowering students, and creating inclusive pathways that make participation possible, not just for some, but for all.

Both organisations look forward to the positive impact this collaboration will have as they continue working together to champion opportunity, inclusion, and lifelong engagement in physical activity across Australia.
