The Game Sense Framework and Poster Pack gives teachers practical tools to develop students’ tactical understanding, decision making and skill execution through meaningful movement experiences.
Informed by Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) and skill acquisition, the resource moves beyond isolated skill practice by encouraging students to think, make decisions, solve problems and apply skills in context.
The pack includes 48 ready-to-print posters across 12 Game Sense and movement contexts, with four posters for each theme. These cover territory, net and wall, target, striking and fielding games, along with athletics, rhythmic and aesthetic activities, combat sports, water sports, challenge and adventure, recreational pursuits, individual pursuits, and skill and trick activities.
Each theme provides practical guidance for key principles, tactical understanding, decision making, skill execution, questioning, reflection, modifications, inclusion and equipment, giving teachers prompts and ideas they can use during planning or directly in PE lessons. The pack also includes the Game Sense Framework and supporting guidance, making it a practical teaching resource as well as a classroom poster collection.
